Almost the entire cast of Kick-Ass will return for "Balls to the Wall", even Nicolas Cage?
Deadline is reporting that almost the entire original cast from Kick-Ass, the 2010 action comedy from director Matthew Vaughn, have been re-signed for the sequel. Kick-Ass and it's sequel, sub-titled Balls to the Wall, are based on the wildly popular comics created by Mark Millar. The sequel is currently being written by its future director, Jeff Wadlow. That means the rumors are true and Vaughn will NOT return to his passion project. It's too bad too. The first Kick-Ass really opened a lot of doors for Vaughn, who went on to direct the awesome X-Men: First Class.
Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse would all return. As would Nicolas Cage. SPOILER ALERT: Cage would return in a cameo, most likely flashbacks, as his character was killed in the original film/comic book. END SPOILER
This is pretty exciting for fans like myself. I thought the original cast was spot on perfect and would love to see what else they could bring to the world Millar created. It's always a bummer when stars choose not to return to sequels in a franchise. I'll be even more happy when this is confirmed. I'll let you know when that happens.
