Successful, Alan Horn, takes over as chairman of Disney Studios

A little over a month ago, Rich Ross resigned as Walt Disney Pictures' chairman.  His exit quote was something along the lines of, 'this isn't the right professional fit for me'.  Whatever.  You made one massive mistake after another, and only Marvel saved the company's ass with The Avengers.  Remember John Carter?  That's neither here nor there.

Today, Variety reported that former head of Warner Brothers Studios, Alan Horn has earned the job.  Let me give you 3 franchise Horn oversaw while at Warner Brothers... The Oceans films, The Harry Potter franchise, and the Christopher Nolan Batman films!  What!?  Any questions?  This guy is a business mastermind.  That may turn off some creative types, but have no fear, he's great in that department as well.  For all his business and marketing savvy, he works well with actors/producers/directors too.  He officially takes over June 11th.  I'm sure the headlines will start to roll soon after.  I'll let you know.

P.S.  Paul Ben-Victor famously played the role of Alan Rubin, head of Warner Brothers on HBO's "Entourage".  It was explained multiple times by the show's creator, Doug Ellin, that the role was purposely meant to depict Alan Horn.  Pretty cool huh?
