Quickie: Seth Rogen joins Christian Bale, as Steve Wozniak, in Steve Jobs film

Seth Rogen has been cast as Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, in the upcoming Danny Boyle directed Steve Jobs film.  This comes just a few days after Christian Bale was cast in the lead role.  This is actually kind of an interesting casting choice.

Rogen is mostly known as a comedic actor, and I was under the impression this was the 'serious' Steve Jobs biopic, vs. Jobs, the film starring Ashton Kutcher.  That's not to say the character will be played from a nonsensical point of view; but it does make you wonder.

I'm a big fan of Seth Rogen and love his films.  I'm just not so sure he has the dramatic chops to keep up with the likes of Bale, in a movie made for Oscar season.  We'll have to wait and find out.

Ps... Jessica Chastain is also being rumored to join the cast.

Quickie: Christian Bale cast as Steve Jobs

Christian Bale has joined the Steve Jobs biopic, written by Academy Award winning writing, Aaron Sorkin.  The film is not yet titled.

Since the script was completed, Sorkin was pushing for Bale to play the part of Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs.  The movie has been in somewhat of a limbo, and for multiple reasons. First was the Ashton Kutcher film, and then the producers' inability to land a director.  Or the director they initially wanted anyway.

Producer Scott Rudin and Sorkin wanted to re-team with their The Social Network director, David Fincher.  But when Sony wouldn't pay up Fincher's 10 million dollar fee, the Oscar nominated director turned down the project.

All the while Bale was the front runner for the lead role.  So when Sony couldn't get one Oscar nominated director, what did they do?  Go out and get an Oscar winning director in Danny Boyle.  Boyle won his Academy Award for Slumdog Millionaire.

Between Sorkin's writing, Boyle's directing, and Bale's impeccable method acting; I think we're all in for a treat.  Very much looking forward to this film.

Quickie: Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as Marvel's Dr. Strange

It's official!  Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in Marvel's Dr. Strange.  After months and months of speculations; one casting rumor after another, it was announced today that the Star Trek Into Darkness alum would play the "sorcerer supreme".

Marvel announced the project long ago; and the character was even mentioned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  What about Cumberbatch's casting?  I love it!!  He looks the part, he is a tremendous talent, and he can evoke all sorts of emotion with that devious smile and eyes.

If you haven't had the pleasure of watching any of Cumberbatch's work, get on it.  He's been in a long list of tv shows and films.  He was also in last years Best Picture, 12 Years a Slave.  After scoring countless hits, I have no doubt Marvel will treat the character right, and give us a great final product.

Quickie: The Avengers: Age of Ultron poster and trailer

Sorry for the extended delay my friends.  Work has been a bit crazy and keeping the blog up to date has been challenging.  None the less, here we are!  The Avengers sequel is finally here, and the trailer is a doozy!  Check out the trailer to The Avengers: Age of Ultron below, and my thoughts after.

Pretty intense right?  Like, emotionally draining intense huh?  I love the trailer, don't get me wrong.  It accomplished exactly what it was supposed to... make me want to see the film.  Let's be honest with each other, if you read this blog AT ALL, you know I'm a fanboy who tries his best to be unbiased.  And I'll do my best to be unbiased here.  The trailer is terrific, and keeps us all salivating for more.  The entire cast from the original film are back, with a bunch of new comers as well.  So what did you think?  Amazing, or just eye candy to feed the fanboys that are going to see the film anyway?
